Meta prepares to launch a Twitter Competitor Named ‘Threads’

1 Minute ReadMeta prepares to launch a Twitter Competitor Named 'Threads'

New York – Meta prepares to launch a direct Twitter competitor as early as this coming Thursday. In the Apple App Store, you can pre-order Threads now, which is advertised as an app to “share ideas & trends with text.”

Threads is a text-based alternative to Instagram. It utilizes your Instagram username and automatically follows the same individuals that you already follow on Instagram.

Meta announced in March that it was investigating a text-based platform where “creators and public figures can share timely updates about their interests.” Meta did not respond to a request for comment, USA Today reported.

If the app becomes a success, Twitter could lose billions in Advertisements which would move to the new Threads platform.
