WASHINGTON — Two law enforcement officials said Tuesday that the White House was briefly evacuated Sunday evening while President Joe Biden was at Camp David after the Secret Service discovered a suspicious powder in a common area of the West Wing and a preliminary test revealed the powder to be cocaine, AP reported.
Sunday, while conducting routine patrols, Secret Service agents discovered the white substance in an area accessible to tour groups, not in a specific West Wing office, according to officials. The officials were not authorized to disclose an ongoing investigation and spoke on the condition of anonymity to The Associated Press.
No suspects have yet been arrested.
