After Disney sues FL., Ron DeSantis strikes back as the Board agrees to back up the governor in a countersuit against Disney, which is the largest employer in Central Florida, with close to 75,000 employees. Disney is also the largest tax payer company in Central FL, paying $1.7 billion in income taxes just in 2022.

Last week, Disney sued Governor DeSantis, stating the in America, the government cannot retaliate against a company for “simply speaking their mind.” In its lawsuit, Disney states that DeSantis’ year-long retaliation against the company comes after the company spoke in favor of the LGBT+ community following the infamous “No Say Gay” law in Florida schools introduced by DeSantis last year.
