Santo, Domingo, Distrito Nacional (The Continent Times) – In what seems to be one of the largest efforts for the second largest country in the Caribbean, Dominican Republic, to eliminate corruption and criminalize white collar crime, two of nations’s most influential businessmen and politicians, José Ramón Peralta and Donald Guerrero were sent to 18 months in jail for embezzlement and fraud against the State while their case is being investigated,

The judge Kenya Romero issued the order on Tuesday, marking what would be one of the largest corruption cases in Latin America, with a staggering sum of over $$347 million embezzled.
