When Postidal opened its marketplace many started wondering why? After all, we have so many companies that are called marketplaces that one more wouldn’t make a difference. But then as I saw what Postidal was about I quickly realized that this New York start-up might one day change the way New Yorkers do online retail and buy from bodegas, forever.
As Postidal creates America’s first shelf-check-out bodegas, sometimes referred to as robotic bodegas, the company aims at what many would call an underserved market, the bodegas market. If the company really succeeds at creating these robotic self-checkout bodegas, it’ll project the Japanese style on small stores. In Japan, self-checkout convenience stores, or bodegas, aren’t anything new, but in the US, they are. So much so, Japan has even legalized the sale of alcohol for self-checkout.
The company promises to also deliver all of the products its bodegas would sell online, through its mobile apps, as it does for its Marketplace. So, the only thing left to say, is bonne voyage, Postidal. See you next!
