A “potentially dangerous” asteroid the size of a bridge is expected to pass by Earth Monday, NASA said.
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the space agency found that the asteroid, which has been given the name 1994 XD and has a span that is comparable to that of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, has a length of 1,500 feet. Even more impressive, it was discovered in 2005 that it has its very own satellite that orbits it, ABC news reported.
Due to the fact that the asteroid will be traveling by Earth at a distance of approximately 1.9 million miles, there is no possibility that it will collide with the planet.
